How to plan a Romantic Paddle Boarding date

When it comes to planning a date, sometimes you have to think outside the box. No matter if it is your first date, you have been dating a while, or you are married, you want an experience you both will remember. You may not think of paddle boarding as a date, but you can make it romantic with a few of these helpful tips and it won’t break the bank.

Location: Location is very important. Chose an amazing location that isn’t too difficult to get to. Nothing kills a romantic vibe like walking through bushes, mud, or ant hills. You also want to make sure you’re not taking in a bug infected area. How romantic can it be if you’re getting eaten alive by bugs? Don’t forget to check the weather for that location and the tide if needed. You wouldn't want to get caught in a storm or low tide. Choose a scenic and calm body of water so you can enjoy your time together.

Time: Timing can be everything. Sunrise and sunset are the perfect time to just sit back and enjoy the painting of the sky with that special someone. A beautiful sunrise or sunset does not cost a thing.

Pack a picnic: Who doesn’t love the idea of a picnic on the water? What should you pack? A few easy items you can fit in a cooler on your board:

-Beverages of your choice (make sure you also have water)

- A snack box filled with crackers, cheeses, fruit, veggies, sliced meat, granola bars, nuts, or chocolate covered strawberries.

Be prepared: There are a few things you want to have to make sure your date goes off without a hitch.

-Life vest for both of you

-Dry bag (to keep your items dry and safe)

-Towels

-Sunscreen

-Bug spray

-Waterproof speaker for some tunes

The Vibe: Keep the conversation light and playful—paddle boarding can get a little wobbly at times, so enjoy the laughter and the fun of learning together. If you are both feeling adventurous, challenge each other to see who can stay on their board the longest or paddle the fastest.

End with Something Cozy: After the paddle boarding, grab some drinks at a nearby cafe or have a cozy walk along the shore to wind down.

Planning a romantic paddle boarding date doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive, but it is one you both will remember.

Please add pictures/directions on which D-rings to use to connect the kayak seat. I just got my Cloud SUP Kayak Cruiser and ROC has no reference for the seat attachment in the user guide that came with it, nor directions on the website showing the seat as a-la-carte, nor the online user guide. Referencing non-ROC directions recommendations refer to using front and back D-rings, but the seat straps are way too short for that. The only reference I saw was on the ROC recommendation for a romantic cruise which has a picture to zoom in on where the seat is mounted, they definitely were not the D-rings I expected to use. Secondly on the pump please add clarity to the user guide on where or what the “dual action” setting is, is it the thing at the top of the pump one can screw on and off like a cap? I figured it’s the one thing at the top one can twist on at the top of the pump. Lastly what is the loose black O ring for? Doesn’t seem to mesh to anything. So far very pleased with my purchase, have yet to take it out, want to figure out the seat first.
