Paddle boarding is not just an exciting way to get out in nature and explore the
waterways; it’s chance to have a positive impact on the environment. This ☘️St.
Paddy’s Day☘️ we are launching GO GREEN & PADDLE CLEAN to encourage
paddler to paddle with eco-friendly practices, participate in clean-up efforts, and
help preserve our beautiful waterways. Our waterways are an extremely crucial to the environment and to human life.

Here’s how you can paddle with a purpose and contribute to a cleaner,
greener planet:

1. Paddle boarding with a Green Mindset: Paddle boarding is a low-
impact, eco-friendly sport. It requires no fuel and minimal equipment, making it a
perfect activity for those looking to enjoy nature without leaving a big carbon
footprint. However, there’s always more we can do to ensure our passion for
paddling benefits the environment.

Here are some simple ways to go green on the water:
• Limit Plastic: Always carry reusable water bottles and avoid using single-use
plastic. Plastics are one of the most harmful pollutants in our oceans, and
paddleboarders can lead by example by reducing plastic waste.
• Support Eco-Friendly Brands: Many brands now offer products made from
sustainable materials, including biodegradable cleaning supplies, recyclable paddle
accessories, and eco-conscious gear. By choosing these products, you’re making a
difference with every paddle stroke.

2. Get Involved in Waterway Clean-Ups : One of the most effective ways to
GO GREEN & Paddle Clean” is to take action by cleaning up our waterways.
Lakes, rivers, springs and oceans are full of debris, from plastic bottles to discarded fishing lines. Paddleboarding provides the perfect platform for environmental clean-ups, as it allows us to access hard-to-reach areas along shorelines and islands. Consider organizing or joining a community clean-up event.

Here are a few more tips to get started:

Participate in Group Clean-Ups: Many paddle boarding communities host annual
or seasonal clean-up events. These efforts usually involve paddlers collecting trash
while enjoying a group paddle on the water. Not only do you get the satisfaction of
helping clean up the environment, but you also get to connect with like-minded
eco-conscious paddlers.

Host Your Own Clean-Up: Gather your friends or local paddling group and
organize a clean-up at your favorite paddling spot. Bring along eco-friendly trash
bags, gloves, and collection equipment. Afterward, celebrate your success with a
“green” picnic or an eco-friendly paddle session.

Track Your Impact: Keep track of the amount of debris you collect during your
clean-up efforts. Sharing your success on social media can inspire others to join the
cause, helping to spread the message about the importance of maintaining clean
and healthy waterways.

3. Eco-Friendly Paddle boarding Tips: As paddlers, we’re already in tune with
the environment, but there’s always more we can do to minimize our impact. Here
are some additional tips for going green while enjoying the sport we love:
Respect Wildlife: Always maintain a safe distance from wildlife, especially when
paddling in sensitive habitats. Avoid disturbing nesting birds or sea creatures, and
be mindful of your presence in natural spaces.
Leave No Trace: Follow the principles of “Leave No Trace” by cleaning up after
yourself and avoiding leaving anything behind on the water or shoreline. Pack out
all your trash and any litter you find.
Conserve Water: When washing your paddleboard or gear, avoid using harsh
chemicals that can pollute the water. Opt for biodegradable soap, or better yet, skip
soap altogether and use a simple rinse with freshwater.
Support Local Environmental Initiatives: Many local environmental
organizations and non-profits work tirelessly to protect water sources, reduce
pollution, and restore ecosystems. Consider donating a portion of your paddling
profits or time to these groups or getting involved in their activities.

4. Join the Go Green Movement: How You Can Get Involved: The “Paddle with a
Purpose – Go Green & Paddle Clean” campaign isn’t just about cleaning up trash; it’s about fostering a community of paddlers who care about preserving the waterways we love. By joining our campaign, you can make a meaningful difference in the fight for a cleaner, greener planet.

• Share Your Story: Share your eco-friendly paddling practices, clean-up stories,
and green initiatives on social media with the hashtag #ROCPADDLESGREEN
Let’s inspire others to make waves for the environment!

5. The Future of Paddle boarding: Sustainable Practices for the Next Generation:
As paddleboarding continues to grow in popularity, it’s essential that we lead by
example. The next generation of paddlers will look to us for guidance on how to
enjoy the sport while protecting the planet. Let’s set the bar high by incorporating
sustainable practices into our everyday paddling routine.

Together, we can ensure that paddle boarding remains a green, clean sport for years
to come. By prioritizing sustainability, participating in waterway clean-ups, and
educating others on the importance of preserving our natural habitats, we can make
a lasting impact on the environment.

Paddle with a Purpose – A Call to Action: This St. Patrick’s Day,
or any day of the year, you can make a difference by adopting eco-friendly
paddleboarding practices and giving back to the environment. Whether you’re
